It appears hunger and a bag of potato chips led to a shocking conclusion for a man who was in a high-speed chase with deputies Jan. 26.
Brett D. Thompson, 50, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, a felony, after he led deputies and highway patrol troopers through Gillette at speeds as fast as 90 mph.
