A local woman hospitalized after a car accident is getting help from her friends and co-workers.
A 5K run and walk and a “Sip & Sweets” silent auction will help support Angie Laakso, who was hurt in a car accident Feb. 9 while driving home from Billings, Mont.
Laakso is hospitalized Craig Rehabiliation Center in Colorado and has a traumatic brain injury, according to an announcement from Abby Miller, her co-worker at Campbell County Memorial Hospitals’s Rehabilitation department.
5K run/walk: The run/walk starts at 8 a.m. March 23 at the Rotary Point Shelter at Fishing Lake. The cost to enter is $20 and includes a T-shirt. Those interested can pick up registration forms at CCMH rehab 508 Stocktrail Ave Suite B.
Sip & Sweets: Later that day, there will be a reception and silent auction from 6 to 9 p.m. at the AVA Community Art Center, where Laakso is a board member. A $25 ticket gets visitors a beverage and dessert. They can also bid in the silent auction from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available at ERA Boardwalk, AVA or CCMH Rehab.
