5K and silent auction to benefit Gillette woman

A local woman hospitalized after a car accident is getting help from her friends and co-workers.
A 5K run and walk and a “Sip & Sweets” silent auction will help support Angie Laakso, who was hurt in a car accident Feb. 9 while driving home from Billings, Mont.
Laakso is hospitalized Craig Rehabiliation Center in Colorado and has a traumatic brain injury, according to an announcement from Abby Miller, her co-worker at Campbell County Memorial Hospitals’s Rehabilitation department.
5K run/walk: The run/walk starts at 8 a.m. March 23 at the Rotary Point Shelter at Fishing Lake. The cost to enter is $20 and includes a T-shirt. Those interested can pick up registration forms at CCMH rehab 508 Stocktrail Ave Suite B.
Sip & Sweets: Later that day, there will be a reception and silent auction from 6 to 9 p.m. at the AVA Community Art Center, where Laakso is a board member. A $25 ticket gets visitors a beverage and dessert. They can also bid in the silent auction from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available at ERA Boardwalk, AVA or CCMH Rehab. Those who would like to contribute items to the auction can drop them off before March 21. Those who would like to donate money can call 680-3797 or 756-2013.
