Edwin John Roswold

Edwin John Roswold, 77, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Viewing will be at 5 p.m. with memorial services at 7 p.m. Thursday at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade in Colorado Springs.
Graveside services will be at 10:15 a.m. Friday at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, with full military services.
He was born June 12, 1936, in Township of Nichols, Minn., to Dorothy Watts and Edwin Roswold. He developed a strong work ethic at an early age that he took with him through life.
Mr. Roswold joined the United States Army in 1953 and retired nearly 30 years later as a chief warrant officer. He served the military honorably and earned the Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal and Meritorious Service Medal. He traveled extensively with the military and often shared stories of his experiences overseas. He earned the nickname “Trooper” while as the territorial governor of the Single-Action Shooting Society. He was known for his ability to remember the smallest details. He lived off and on in Gillette. He loved his family, American history and old Western movies.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Maria Roswold, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sons, Michael Roswold and Edwin Roswold, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter, Theresa Roswold-Gales, of Gillette; a nephew; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two children, Diana Roswold and Edwin Roswold Jr.
