From the Dec. 1, 1939 News Record:
Because of the showing of movies and talks by two local dentists, Dr. Wade and Dr. Werntz, an assembly Monday was held at 10:45 and lasted until noon. A dental clinic is being held for all students, free of charge. The student is to make an appointment with either dentist and the dentist will fill out a card which was given to every student in the assembly. This card will tell if no dental attention is necessary, if dental attention is required though not badly neglected or if dental attention is urgent. The first movie film shown was “How Teeth Grow,” which was interpreted by Dr. Wade. Dr. Werntz explained the movie “Care of Teeth,” after which questions were asked by the students.
From the dec. 13, 1951 News Record:
Gillette is gradually creeping toward the big city status, as this week stop and go signals were installed on the intersection of Highway 14-16 and Gillette Avenue. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to acquaint themselves with the operation of the signals, and please observe them, says Charley Tyrell, police chief. When the red light is on, no traffic — motor or pedestrian — is to go forward against it. As soon as the yellow light shows, it means get ready to go, but not to go until the light turns green. Police Chief Tyrell warns that inasmuch as the signals are now in operation they must be observed, as both motorists and pedestrians are taking their life in their hands by not doing so.
