From the Jan. 2, 1947 News Record:
A fine of $2,000 and five years’ imprisonment is the possible sentence for failure to register any fully automatic weapon with the treasury department. This is a warning that Sgt. Lee Delozier of the Casper Marine Corps office passes along to all persons possessing a fully automatic weapon. (Those that fire more than one round with a single pull of the trigger.) Sgt. Delozier explained that a large number of servicemen brought these weapons home as souvenirs and have not registered them. He further explained that failure to have the weapons registered was probably due to most peoples’ unfamiliarity with the national firearms act of 1934. All persons having a fully automatic weapon that is not registered are urged to register them at once with any office of the Alcohol Tax Unit, Bureau of Internal Revenue.
From the Jan. 3, 1957 News Record:
The folder containing the 1907 picture of the Stockmen’s Bank has proved to be a valuable memento to its owner, Mrs. J.A. Allison, since it not only has the 50-year-old photograph, but also the signatures of many stockholders, employees and their families written on the folder. The picture and frame were used as place cards at the dinner which celebrated the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Stockmen’s Bank. On the back were listed the names of the original stockholders and directors of the firm in 1907. The folder was then passed around for all the guests to sign.
From the Jan. 11, 1968 News Record:
Shots in the dark about 10:30 p.m. last Monday were more than rabbit hunters on the Bernard Rourke place, according to Sheriff D.B. Hladky. The ranch is 11 miles south of Gillette on the T7 road. Rourke said he heard the shots and looked around briefly, but concluded it to be rabbit hunters. But inspection the next morning revealed about 20 bullet holes in the windows and body of his car parked less then a block from his home. Guns of various calibers had been used, the sheriff said.
