Expanding his collection of rocks, artifacts and petrified bones, L.H. Barlow of Gillette brought in a dinosaur vertebra, which looked like it should be a tree stump instead of one “small” segment of a huge backbone. Barlow said that a friend of his in the state of Washington sent the specimen to him about two weeks ago and it may now be seen on display in his home. The thick base of the bone is 12 inches thick and 14 inches across. The extreme measurements of bony extensions measure 2 feet across. Mr. Barlow, a retired 89-year-old rancher of this county, has converted his home into a museum to which he extends an invitation for all to see.
