Pilots for Christ Wyoming has announced that Friday evening it will conduct a fly-by over the Gillette-Campbell County Airport as it delivers the bodies of Shyann Lenz, 9, and her mother Trista Meyer, 34, to Sturgis, S.D., from Salt Lake City.
The high-speed pass will be a salute to the pair who died in a plane crash in the Utah Mountains on Nov. 25. The organization aided in the airborne search that eventually found the crash site where the airplane the pair and Meyer's boyfriend Matt Ahrens, 37, were flying in crashed.
It offered last week to fly the bodies of the pair home to South Dakota where funeral services will take place Saturday.
Anybody who would like to honor Lenz and Meyer, who lived for the past few years in Gillette, may go to the airport at 6 p.m. Friday.
