Campbell County High School wrestlers push a truck from the school to Cam-plex for in a workout for their legs and their spirits. Coach Jim Coca designed the event for a kick-off for the season for the Camels. Six wrestlers pushed the truck for 30 seconds at a time with rows of wrestlers switching when Coca directed them to. Gillette Mayor Mike Enzi called Sen. Cliff Hansen yesterday for the first call placed with the new phone switching system in Gillette. The system is the first of its kind in Wyoming, the system will bring many new telephoning features to the area. Hansen said the first call yesterday was a historic moment for Wyoming and he was glad to be a part of it. From 1976 Gillette News Record.

"Amax Coal donated $1,000 to the Bicentennial park fnd recently bringing the fund total close to $7,000. A fire at the Gillette Motel left three rooms destroyed along with the entire roof section of the two-story structure. Damage was estimated at $100,000. A hole was cut in the roof to ventilate it and a special nozzle was used to spray water inside. Firemen worked several hours to contain the blaze and mop-up. Photo from 1976 Gillette News Record.
