Nancy Lynn Nevius McKee, 75, formerly of Gillette, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Lakewood, Colo., of natural causes.
Mrs. McKee was born Aug. 20, 1937, in Monmouth, Ill. She attended Galesburg Public Schools, went to Northwestern College her freshman year, and then graduated from Monmouth College. She was a member of the Phi Beta Phi sorority.
She sang, acted and danced through the years, which she loved very much. She was involved in theater in Gillette, where she lived in the 1990s.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. “Bob” McKee of Gillette; daughters Alison Johnston and Tracy Truax; sons Jeff Truax and Marc Truax; nine grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her stepson, Mark R. McKee; her sister, Peggy Nevius German; her beloved aunt, Grace Gawthrop Peterson; and her parents, Alice and Roy Nevius.
Private memorial services were Friday in Lakewood.
Cremation will take place and private services will be held later this summer in Monmouth, Ill.
