New Year’s Eve fireworks were stupid idea

What a stupid idea for the city of Gillette to allow fireworks on New Year’s Eve.
Did they honestly think people would obey the rules and not light them in the city? When our police and sheriff’s deputy’s should be out worrying about drunken drivers, they are trying to enforce no fireworks. This was all because the city thought that all the poor people that just could not do without fireworks because of none on the Fourth of July.
I sure hope they rethink this next time. I would rather have lives saved than hear fireworks all night and I mean all night.

Do you have your facts straight? The county lifted the fire ban which allowed fireworks to be shot. Fireworks can be exploded all year on private property within the county. laws will never stop the yahoos in town that shoot them off within the city. And the police cant give tickets unless they see someone shoot them off even though there are piles of debris in front of their house and the smell of gun powder in the air.
