Phillis I. Filbeck, 72, of Gillette died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, in Huxley, Texas, of natural causes.

She was born July 24, 1941, in Beaver, Okla., to Bill and Edna Durham. She moved to Gillette in 1969 with her husband and children. After retiring from the Campbell County School District, she spent her summers in Gillette and winters in Huxley, Texas.

Mrs. Filbeck was a loving wife and mother.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Johnie Filbeck of Gillette and Huxley, Texas; daughters, Tammie Jones of Gillette, Sandra Wofford of Liverpool, Texas, and Debbie Benzel of Huxley, Texas; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two bothers; and three sisters.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be in July in Gillette for family and friends.

John Henry, Tammie, Sandy, Debbie and Family: So sorry to hear of the passing of Phillis. She was always special to me. I can still hear her say; Thorne we need too, Thorne you need too, Thorne you need to get over there and get it solved. She will be missed by the people she touched, I know I will. I feel that I was lucky just to have known her and to have had the oppertunity to have been

told how to do the things she wanted done, in her way.
