Memorial services for Roy Ralph Ireton, 74, of Branson, Miss., will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Converse County Cemetery in Douglas with a reception to follow.
He died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Miss., of cancer.
Roy Ralph Ireton was born in Cour d’ Alene, Idaho, on Dec. 16, 1937, to Ralph Alan and Mary Faulkner Ireton.
He worked in the oil and gas industry for 37 years throughout the United States and in later years for Airmark Mesa Verde Co. at Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado. He enjoyed rock hunting, wood working, country music and attending church services with Barbara Fairchild Ministries.
He is survived by his wife, Marie of Branson, Miss.; his children, Roy Alan of Colorado and Colleen Bush of Gillette; brothers, Cecil and Donald Ireton; sisters, Alice Reed, Faye Manning, and Doris Menter all of Douglas; stepchildren, Dawn Lopez and Michael Miller of California; a granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol Jean Ireton; and his sister, Opal Gallagher.
He will be buried alongside, Carol, his first wife of 47 years, in the family plot in Douglas.
