TAYLORSVILLE — A Taylorsville Elementary School teacher who allegedly asked students for foot and back massages and played dodgeball in class is back on the job.
Granite School District officials tell The Salt Lake Tribune they disciplined 53-year-old Bryan Watts, but didn’t find evidence of any criminal conduct.
School police say they started investigating in October after a parent said her daughter reported odd classroom behavior. The woman said Watts had asked students to rub his feet during “movie time” and scared a student by pounding a hammer on the child’s desk.
Another student reported an in-class dodgeball game.
District spokesman Ben Horsley says the conduct appeared to cross the line of professional conduct.
Watts didn’t immediately return an email seeking comment Tuesday. A phone number listed for him was disconnected.
