Wyoming Supreme Court disbars Cody lawyer Vannoy

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Wyoming Supreme Court has disbarred a Cody lawyer who was accused of misappropriating nearly $700,000 in assets from a client's trust.
A beneficiary of the trust had filed a civil complaint against attorney Jody Montgomery Vannoy, resulting in Vannoy being ordered to pay nearly $700,000 for misappropriating funds for her personal use.
The Board of Professional Responsibility then recommended sanctions against Vannoy. The Wyoming State Bar said Wednesday that the Wyoming Supreme Court approved the board's recommendation to disbar her. Vannoy also must pay more than $2,300 in administrative fees and costs to the Wyoming State Bar.
