Wyoming coal-to-gasoline plant seeks delay

RAWLINS, Wyo.— Plans to construct a $1 billion plant in Carbon County to turn coal into gasoline may be delayed.
The Texas developer behind the coal-to-gas conversion plant has asked state officials for more time to submit a final construction schedule.
DKRW Advanced Fuels says it's not clear when its Chinese construction contractor would be able to start work.
Work was slated to have started early this year.
DKRW spokesman Chris May tells the Casper Star-Tribune (http://bit.ly/XpDRrp) that the delay would be in the best interest of all parties to the project.
The Carbon County Board of Commissioners in Rawlins expressed disapproval of the delay. On Tuesday, the board voted to protest the delay, although the commissioners said they were unsure the move would mean anything in the long run.
